What is this? ------------- THE "Keep Current Everything Kit" is intended for Data I/O Subsidiaries to get and install ALL Unisystem algorithms locally on their Major BBS for download by customers. Customers are NOT likely to find the entire release contained here useful and are discoraged from downloading it. Instructions for getting the latest KEEP CURRENT EVERYTHING Kit. The latest version of this file may be found at: URL: ftp://ftp.data-io.com/ftp/dataio/main/kc_all.txt Five Step SUMMARY ----------------- 1> Get the file kc_all.zip from the MAINV library. 2> Unzip the file and run current.bat contained within. 3> Move the resulting *.exe files to the CURRENT library. 4> run the galfilin program using CURRENT for the library and current.scr for the data file. 5 Verify> Using the Worldgroup maintenance routines and library list programs. DETAILED Step by Step Instructions ---------------------------------- 0> BEFORE YOU START! I You need a large free disk area, approximately 200 MB. II Install the programs pkzip and zip2exe. This kit will not work without them. They can be found in Data I/O's main library if you do not have them. 1> Download the file MAINV/kc_all.zip it is about 6 MB. 3> You need a work area with a large amount of free disk space, approximately 200MB 2> Unzip the file in your work directory. It consists of several different types of files; - *.kc? Keep current algorithm files. - *.txt Keep Current algorithm information files and other documentation files. - current.bat A DOS batch program that zips *.kc? *.sys and the appropriate *.txt files for each algorithm, converts them to a .exe file, and then removes the components. - current.scr A list of the final files and sizes to be used with galfilin program to add all the current files to the CURRENT library. - adapters.sys These two system files are wrapped with every devfnote.sys algorithm for use by the programmer. 3> Run the "current.bat program" this may take an hour or so. There can be up to 2000 +/- algorithms to combine. 4> Move the *.exe files to the CURRENT library. These will take up approximately 90 MB. 5> Run the galfilin program from the BBS Utilities menu. This utility allows you to rapidly enter files into the Worldgroup catalog. The script file is the file current.scr and the Library name should be CURRENT. 6> You should now be able to see all of the files in the current library and search for them using keyword searches. Note> If you see any inconsistencies, such as files with zero length or files which do not load use the Worldgroup library maintenance procedures to verify the files in the the library. Unlog any files which it can not find. -- +- Bill England, WebMaster@Data-IO.com --------------------------+ | * * H -> He +24MeV | | * * * ...
