Internal oscillator trim value handling for Motorola MC68HC908Qx devices on SPRINT All 908Qx devices are factory programmed with a trim value in a reserved FLASH location, $FFC0. This value can be copied from the FLASH to the OSCTRIM register during RESET initialisation. Reset loads OSCTRIM with a default value of $80. Bulk FLASH erasure will set location $FFC0 to $FF and the factory programmed value will be lost. For that ERASING is OFF on Sprint as default setting. Normally, the reserved address 0xFFCO is not included into the programming memory map. However, in order to read or reprogram this address, set the address 0 to 0x7F in the editor. This hidden function will include the address 0xFFC0 into programming/verify (and erasing if erase function enabled). At the moment (10/16/03) the factory programmed value wont be automatically saved by the programmer before erasing.
